Gary Winter is a member of OBIE-Award winning 13P. He has received support from The Spielberg Righteous Persons Foundation, Rita and Burton Goldberg, The Dramatists Guild and other generous foundations and individuals. He formed WunderkammerTheater in 2009 to produce COOLER and future projects.

"I try to build up poetry through the simplest of speech, often exploring normally inarticulate characters struggling to articulate themselves, making familiar language strange and mysterious again. I enter plays through a character's needs, which helps me find the play's structure organically. I try listen to what characters are saying and doing without editing, and through this process I hope to discover characters who offer up dynamic speech, contradictory and surprising actions. I will edit for rhythm, texture, and dynamics-much like the elements in painting or music. Since theater can be 'smart fun' I also enjoy incorporating visual puns, music and dance into my plays."

Wunderkammer means "Cabinet of Curiosities."
